Emterra Group named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for 2016

Emterra Group has been recognized as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for 2016 by Mediacorp Canada Inc. in its Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. The announcement, including a profile of Emterra was published in the Globe and Mail and online, as part of Earth Day celebrations.

The Canada’s Greenest Employers project shines a light on companies that initiate innovative programs to attract and retain talented employees. Emterra is the only company in the waste resources management sector to be acknowledged.

“We congratulate Emterra Group on being one of Canada’s Greenest Employers in 2016. It’s a wonderful achievement,” said Richard Yerema of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project.

The winning employers, selected by the editors at Canada’s Top 100 Employers are evaluated on the following criteria: (1) unique environmental initiatives or programs they have developed; (2) whether they have been successful in reducing their own environmental footprint; (3) whether their employees are involved in these programs and contribute any unique skills; and (4) whether their environmental initiatives have become linked to the employer’s public identity and attract new people to the organization.
